Marketing challenge:
Café Descartes, an established independent cafe on the Chicago coffee scene, wanted to bring the aesthetic of its beautiful cafes online, plus spread the word about its high quality coffee and unique beverage items also available at kiosks, like the exclusive Oatmeal Latte. As a business with both local and global clientele, the goals of the site are to attract new customers, plus answer the types of questions existing customers have come to expect to find information for online.
Solution:
The site content was developed for Café Descartes based on existing materials, altered to fit the perspective of potential online visitors, enhanced through strategic keyword research. Then based on this strategic content architecture, the established brand elements were layered in to establish the local brand in the local – and global – online space. Additionally clients can find information about important related services like Café Descartes’s local Chicago catering services.
The homepage features a rotation of photos from the cafes to convey a sense of the place and what an actual visit might be like. All the menus are available and easily updated through an open-source International content management system accessible directly through the Web.
Email marketing functionality was built directly into the site using the convenient sign up tools available through the email marketing service selected particularly for this client – Constant Contact.
